Fire and Galaxy

Where I stood in the furnace blast of all the ultraviolet our Sun could give, the tissue paper delicacy of a trillion petals drew my thoughts away from all that light pouring down upon me.

They glowed with an ethereal tone of flames caught in a moment, of delphinium galaxies caught in the eye of a telescope, as if to make a machine shudder away any tears. They were so surreal I drew away my sunglasses to see if I was being tricked, and they only looked more out of this world than ever before
