I asked, eyes closed against my will
If all the trees were standing still
Along the places in my heart
Where thistles drank the river's fill
Thus resolute, I grapple Sun
and stammer flagstones. Only one
can tear the Gossip Rose apart
along the valleys time will run
Await for me your sightless speech
I felt for slates just out of reach
And follow you, my counterpart
not into battle, nor to breach
I love the emotion in this poem! ❤
