Twilight of the Rivers

In these waters light is ended
Into rainbows never mended
As these ghosts have whispered songs
When the birds would practice wrongs
All these sinews of the rain
In the morning light's refrain
Race to mock the setting sun
Clothed in frail white dress as one
Who can never leave the earth
Twilight leads to no rebirth
Beyond the image of that space
That drove them to the hurtful place
There is no cost to where we like
Until the twilight rivers dry.
